Here at Gigant we are excited to launch yet another new product range now available to all Gigant customers. Our new range of industrial scales and balances have arrived and are the ideal solutions for any type of workplace environment.

There are so many options available that we’ve put together some short summaries of the different types to help you narrow down your choice:

Counting Scales – part counting weighing scales for counting!

Counting scales allow you to set the weight of one item. Then when several of items are placed on the scales the display will show how many items there are. A dedicated counting scale has three displays (weight, sample weight and quantity) and are available in different capacities and sensitivities. This will help you to ensure you choose the correct model for an accurate count.

Weighing Scales – for general weighing

If you are only interested in the gross or net weight of an item then all of the products in this new range will give you that. When selecting your scale please consider the following; what is the maximum weight of your goods? What accuracy do you need to determine? What size of top pan is sufficient to support your goods? Where will the scale be used?

Wash Down Scales – ideal for cleanroom environments

These scales have an IP rating of 66, this means that they provide a high level of protection against water and harmful substances. If you work in an environment that must be kept clean or where water is regularly used and equipment is likely to get wet, then these scales are a perfect choice.

Platform Scales – large industrial scales for the factory floor

Many platform scales and pallet beam scales are used in large warehouses, often when goods need to be weighed before being dispatched. They are ideally used in one area where large products can be taken to them and weighed. We also now offer a specialised pallet truck with in built scales to transport heavier items that cannot be carried to the platform scales.

Hanging Scales - heavy duty scales with hold function

Hanging scales are used on gantries, cranes and any other type of suspended structure to allow easy lifting and weighing of an item that is either very large, an unusual shape or difficult to move to a fixed weighing scale. Rechargeable batteries make the hanging scales fully portable and the large LED display plus remote control operation allows use from a distance.

EC Type Approved Scales – specialised trade approved scales

You may notice that on some of the new products it will say ‘EC Type Approved Models available’. These scales are required by law if your company charges your customers based on the weight of your products or goods. If a trade approved version is available it will state this on the product page, or if you’re unsure please ask us!

All scales come with a minimum one year warranty and calibration certificates and in house statements are available for all scales upon request. Please note that calibration certificates must be asked for on order as these cannot be supplied once the product has been used.
