Gigant have supplied a motorised height adjustable workstation with rotating workpiece holder for the assembly of lubrication units. A comfortable working posture is easily achieved by means of electrically operated height adjustment of the workstation, which can accommodate operators of different stature. Components are fed to within easy reach of the operator on roller flowtracks with capacity for additional back up stock. Power tools are suspended from above on a mobile adjustable balance block, and hand tools are close by on a tool panel fixed to a pivot arm.

Our time spent at Southern Manufacturing in Farnborough has been well spent. Visitor numbers were up on previous years which resulted in a number of promising enquires from many prestigious companies, BAE Systems, Honda of the UK and Panasonic to name but a few.
Interest was shown in the whole Gigant workshop product range, from workstations to lifting equipment. There were several enquiries from operations intending to move or set up new production facilities where the Gigant 3D design package will be invaluable.
Overall we consider the event to be a success and hope that the activity generated it is an indication that UK manufacturing has weathered the recession and we can look forward to more favourable conditions in the near future.
It is our intention to attend further regional exhibition later in the year, aimed at manufacturing and other sectors that could also benefit from our range and expertise.

Well historically, its been difficult to get all the UK personel in one place at one time, but ironically as the snow fell and the rest of the country came to a standstill (perhaps that’s the reason??) we managed it!
So now Wednesday 20th January 2010 will be noted for the day when all our UK employees joined together to discuss marketing, products and all things Gigant. With our sales team located throughout the UK it’s very difficult (and expensive! – note from MD) to have this type of gathering, but it was most beneficial as we used our collective heads to put some fine detail on some exciting forthcoming events; including

To round off the day, the evening was spent in a fine Indian restaurant, which will also be remembered, perhaps for slightly different reasons at least for the next few days!

The multi-million project is carried out by SLP Engineering for BP. The platform, which goes into production in 2010, will have 200 personnel stationed – each and everyone with their own locker supplied by Gigant.
